The Way of Air: Embodied Movement for Women

The Air Element teaches us to expand, open, connect, and follow through.

What if stretching didn’t have to feel rigid, uncomfortable or painful? What if, no matter how stiff you are, you could stretch in a way that’s profoundly enjoyable and easeful, with zero struggle? That’s what we’ll be learning in this workshop.

As we work with the air element in movement, we learn to expand and open as we stay connected within our own bodies, rooted in our center. When we expand through both body and mind, we feel more space within us for energy to flow freely and abundantly. Our breath supports the expansion and lengthening of our bodies as we reach and open. Instead of static and linear stretching, the air element movement that we practice in the Amba Method is fluid and intuitive. We sense deeply within, allowing the stretch to unfurl from a space of listening. This method of ‘stretching’ is not only deeply satisfying, but it’s also incredibly efficient as it’s allowing the bio-intelligence of the body to lead the way.

Embodying the air element: Through reaching and stretching, we create healthy and deeply satisfying inner dynamic tension that maintains a healthy flow of life force and prevents us from collapsing or caving into feelings. 

This workshop is for you if:

  • You feel tight and crunchy in your body and want to feel softer and more easeful in your movement

  • Your body doesn’t feel as open and free as it once did, or as you’d like it to be

  • You’re ready to go deeper into connecting with your body and breath

  • You’re a ‘yes’ to becoming more relaxed, learning to listen more deeply inward, and feeling deeply replenished from within.

This workshop is not for you if:

  • You like moving mechanically and don’t want to explore other ways of moving

  • You prefer to think of your body as a doing machine than an intelligent bio-vessel

  • You like stretching in a linear way, and the idea of moving fluidly into stretching doesn’t appeal to you
